At Grupo Solave, we are committed to sustainable agriculture. Our company’s three business units are dedicated to the growth, transformation, and commercialization of Blue Agave. We exemplify a comprehensive commitment to the entire agave life cycle, from nurturing its growth with diligent care to safeguarding natural ecosystems. This dedication has led us to position ourselves as a world leader in the production of Agave Syrup, one of the leading companies in the cultivation of Blue Agave plants in Mexico, and a tequila producer for important brands in the sector.

At our core lies our allegiance to sustainable agricultural practices. We hold the ARA Certification, demonstrating our constant dedication to environmentally responsible actions. This certification guarantees that our Blue Agave fields thrive without cutting down trees, preserving the ecosystem during planting. As part of our ongoing initiatives, the years 2023 and 2024 have strategic efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of our Agave fields, reflecting a proactive stance in our fight against climate change.

Recognizing the importance of soil health, we opt for organic fertilizers to enhance nutrient enrichment and reinforce the vitality of microorganisms in the cultivation process. Our dedication extends to “jima” practices, in which agave leaves removed during this process are returned to the soil, enriching it with vital nutrients. Our commitment to sustainable agriculture is further demonstrated through a comprehensive waste management program to avoid agrochemical contamination of dirt, water sources, and the ecosystem.

We took advantage of the potential of renewable energies through different sustainable actions, including the installation of 972 solar panels, thanks to which we have significantly reduced 30 tons of CO2 emissions during electricity generation. This sustainable energy source represents 39% of our total energy consumption, contributing to an annual reduction of 360 tons of CO2 emissions.

Our dedication to environmental protection is constantly reflected in our actions, boasting an 85% recycling rate for packaging materials. In line with the transition to a circular economy model, we have formed strategic alliances with our customers to produce adobe bricks to construct dignified homes in the communities of Jalisco, Mexico. These bricks, made from agave bagasse, vinasse, biomass ash, clay, and sand, address waste reduction and promote sustainable construction practices.

Our resource optimization efforts extend to the innovative use of agave bagasse as a biofuel, which involves eliminating waste. This reuse mitigates atmospheric emissions in our production processes, diverting 2,800 tons of waste from landfills annually.

Another of our sustainable actions is our active participation in reforestation initiatives in collaboration with the municipality of Amatitán and SEMADET. We are contributing to the reforestation of more than 3,500 square meters of land, achieving an annual mitigation of 2,800 tons of CO2 emissions.

Our remarkable track record in sustainable agriculture is a testament to our dedication to environmental preservation, community well-being, and responsible business practices. We have more than 6,000 hectares of Blue Agave plantations, more than 200 million Blue Agave plants, and an annual planting initiative that introduces 3 million new agaves into our fields.
