Harvesting the Future: Grupo Solave’s Initiatives That Strengthen the Community
- In addition to providing dignified working conditions for its employees, Grupo Solave invests in projects that benefit their families and the broader community.
- The company regularly supports more than a dozen social impact initiatives, ranging from education to environmental stewardship.
- As part of its commitment to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, Grupo Solave contributes to 15 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the organization.
At Grupo Solave, we are committed to providing Agave Solutions while also caring for our people and our community.
Through our three business units, we promote equality, gender equity, transparency, and respect. We also reject child labor and forced labor in all our activities, ensuring dignified work with meaningful social impact.
As part of this commitment, Grupo Solave invests in initiatives that improve the living conditions of our employees and their families. Over the past several years, we have developed and implemented the following programs:
Red Cross Amatitán Donations.
We contributed to the restoration and equipment of the Red Cross Emergency Station in Amatitán. Our support included labor, construction materials, plumbing and electrical repairs, as well as medical supplies, medications, and furniture. These resources sustain the institution’s day-to-day medical operations. In 2022, we also strengthened its infrastructure and equipment to help ensure dignified and functional services.
Support for Older Adults.
We support the María Auxiliadora Retirement Home in Amatitán with food products and hygiene supplies for elderly residents. We also provided food and hygiene items to members of Amatitán’s Civil Protection and Municipal Police.
Your Bottle Caps Save Lives.
We organized plastic bottle cap collection campaigns to donate to the civil association “Banco de Tapitas.” We gathered 1,610 kg in total, more than one ton allocated to support programs for children with cancer. These resources helped fund three doses of Cold Chemo, six Mercaptopurine treatments, 30 Methotrexate treatments, 40 cans of 400 g nutritional supplement, 100 food packages, 10 nights of lodging, and 10 bus tickets for hospital transportation.
FairTSA Food Package Distribution.
Fair trade–focused projects directly benefit the employees involved in producing our Agave Solutions. Thanks to the premium generated through FairTSA certification, in 2022 we purchased staple food products to distribute 704 food packages that help strengthen household economies.
Advancing Women’s Education.
We participate in educational initiatives focused on women by sponsoring a sports event whose proceeds were allocated to scholarships ranging from primary to upper-secondary education. Education is a decisive driver for expanding women’s economic and social participation.
Together for a Cleaner Amatitán.
Engaging young people in social impact activities fosters awareness and community responsibility. In coordination with students from Telebachillerato COBAEJ Achio and the Municipality of Amatitán, we carried out a three-kilometer roadside cleanup along the road leading to our facility. We also collected 486 kg of non-recyclable inorganic waste, preventing it from reaching nearby rivers during the rainy season.
Reforestation at Cerro de La Tortuga, Amatitán.
We participated in the reforestation of 2,250 square meters of Cerro de La Tortuga in collaboration with SEMADET and V-ECO. More than 150 trees were planted, including Tepehuaje, Black Capulín, Green Guaje, and White Guaje, with an estimated mitigation of 1,050 tons of CO₂ per year.
Tecuane Bridge.
In 2020, we participated in the construction of the bridge in the Tecuane Ravine to ensure communication and economic activity for the community of Agua Prieta, as well as for nearby communities that are often affected during the rainy season when river overflows can completely block access.
Wheelchair Donations.
In collaboration with FairTSA, we donated wheelchairs to family members of employees who needed them to improve their mobility. In the same spirit, we supported schools attended by our employees’ children by providing the materials they requested according to their needs, in collaboration with Fairtrade FLO.
Barter Market
Through our internal initiative “Barter Market,” we promote responsible waste separation among our employees. Aluminum, cardboard, paper, and PET are directed to specialized recycling partners, contributing to a circular economy. Between 2023 and 2024, we collected 443 kg of aluminum, 197 kg of PET, and 420 kg of cardboard.
Green Spaces for the Community.
In 2025, we participated in the “Green and Living School” campaign promoted by the Municipality of Amatitán, donating trees to enhance the green areas of Manuel M. Ponce Preschool.
Let’s Power Up.
Through the internal campaign “Let’s Power Up,” we collect used batteries in special containers within our facilities to ensure that this hazardous waste is handled and disposed of by specialized entities.
An Investment That Benefits Everyone.
Caring for what surrounds us means caring for our future. At Grupo Solave, we work to ensure that this care becomes part of everyday practice: concrete, consistent, and lasting. We invest in initiatives that deliver results beyond profitability, supporting social well-being, human development, and the communities that grow alongside us. Each action we undertake aims to strengthen connections, create opportunities, and ensure that the legacy of agave endures in harmony with its people and its land.
